Meet Ms. Hurtubise
My name is Julie Hurtubise and I am the occupational therapist at Kenwood Community School. I began working in the Minneapolis Public Schools in 1997. I received my Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from the Ohio State University, and a Master’s Degree in human development from St. Mary's University. I love being part of a team that works with students in their classrooms and in the OT room both individually and in small groups. The OT room is also set up as a Sensory Motor Break area with a range of supports for motor, sensory, and academic needs. I incorporate sensory strategies, social emotional, fine motor, and organizational skills into the work I do with children. I also enjoy creating activities that support specific grade level assignments.
I have three adult sons who all went to the Minneapolis Public Schools. During my off time, I teach yoga and skiing to school groups. I also love paddle boarding and going on road trips. Please reach out with any questions you might have about OT at school.
My email address is?Julie.Hurtubise@mpls.k12.mn.us.??
My time at Kenwood is on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I work on a district wide evaluation team during the remainder of my time.
